Using Poly coated or Plastic coated paper for hand dipping rather than waxed paper

Over the years, I have observed chocolate hand dipping using wet waxed, dry waxed paper and poly/plastic coated for dipping fine chocolates.

I have been told that dipping onto wet waxed leaves a dull bottom on the candy (small amount of wax on the chocolates).  Some candy makers use dry waxed paper (wax inside of the fibers of the paper).

I am told that using a poly coated paper or board will produce a shiny bottom on the chocolates.

I will be happy to send you samples of any or all of the papers/boards to try yourself.
